Marco and Chip were telling me about some big announcements coming out on SCN today and I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical (I often find big announcements are overrated and smaller innovations underrated) but I'm *really* excited about this. To me, microfinance has the potential to change the economic landscape for many emerging markets and give people a chance to help their communities now - without needing the blessing/funding of some huge banking conglomerate. I can say honestly I'm personally looking forward to being involved with this - hopefully beyond my SCN contributions. Also: I think this emphasis on collective SCN points for a collective goal takes the focus away from simply trying to accumulate points for individual reason, which is not something that motivates me personally nearly as much as this collective push. - Jon
