SAP HANA: My experiences on using SAP HANA with R
In this blog I will discuss about how ODBC helps HANA to connect with different tools like Crystal reports 2011, R etc. I will also discuss about creating a procedure in HANA and calling the same to create a Table in SAP HANA database. I will use ‘R’ to read the data from HANA and to plot a graph on that table. krishna tangudu in Emerging Technologies, Enterprise Data Warehousing/Business Warehouse, ERP, In-Memory Business Data Management, Open Source [Feb. 21, 2012 01:57 PM | 2 Comments | Permalink]

Does the standard search functionality for Communication channel fulfill all your queries/requirements when someone asks you the details? The Quest to Understand the Use of MongoDB in the SAP PaaS
A recent press release from 10gen described the use of MongoDB in SAP’s new Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment. From the perspective of an external observer who wasn’t involved in the decision-making process, I attempt to understand the motivations behind this decision. My explorations span from the detective work and Internet research crucial to discover the technical details of the integration to a discussion about how HANA has evolved from focusing purely on structured data to its response to the market’s demand for tools to analyze unstructured data. Thematic mapping SCN points with KML and other thematic map examples
With open source software and "simple transformations" later a standalone NetWeaver system can generate a thematic map with KML. The blog demonstates a way to use the SCN RSS feeds to produce a thematic/choropleth map based on SCN points worldwide. Now I guess you can guess which countries dominate the points, so I decided (because its my blog :) on points per contributor for the screenshots, and I attempt to name the building which contains the champions of SCN average points per contributor. A few days ago, Rui Nogueira interviewed me on how open source supports the SAP technology strategy. A good reason to continue my blog. Which I am doing way too rarely.
