Then the new transaction MATERIAL_INFO is the answer you have been waiting for!

Enhanced Material Search - Part 5: Major improvements in Enhancement Package 5
The Enhanced Material Search provides a great alternative to the classic material search in ERP Sales and Purchasing transactions, offering full text search capabilities for materials and supplier catalog products (without material number), plus on-the-fly Creation of new materials.
In this 5th BPX article about the Enhanced Material Search with Creation I present great improvements and support of further transactions in Purchasing and Retail done in Enhancement Package 5, which is currently in RampUp. When I convinced you with the new features you can apply for rampup on https://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000730505&

Connecting People Finder to SAP People
People Finder is yet another SAP iPhone app released available in the Apple iTunes store. It connects to the Social Network Analyzer Prototype to visualize information on people and relationships. For this blog I had the People Finder app connected to our internal SNA prototype implementation called "SAP People".

Project Search 2.0: Faceted Search
Finding information across the web is the most fundamental use case of the web. Without search engines and basic navigation, nobody would be able to locate anything. The search application as you know it on SCN has evolved very little since the launch of SDN back in 2004. We have received numerous comments, feedback, and complaints about the search application, and we are also sitting on loads of industry reports, usability studies, and best practices. So, it is now far past due for us to deploy a new Search application, one which not only looks better but one which will allow you to navigate search results based on assigned metadata, similar to product searches on Amazon and other such websites. On June 28, 2009 after our system has been updated, Search 2.0 will be live.
