Community Driven Documentation – a feasible way for SAP?
The strength of SAP is the mixture of very mature and highly innovative products whose documentation is accessible for everyone. But if you have a deeper look you will learn that there are so many frameworks & tools which are not documented as well as software that is documented from an end users point of view but not for a developer that wants to use this tool in a custom or partner solution. But this problem can be solved easily with a little help from the community. How to Empower Small and Midsize Business Sales Teams Quickly with Business Intelligence
I have seen firsthand the powerful differences business intelligence (BI) can make to the success of sales and marketing teams in small and midsize businesses (SMBs). For example, it is remarkable what the sales and marketing forces of SAP SMB reference customers, such as Fresh Direct, Consarc, and Columbia Valley Community Health, have achieved when they are supported with reliable and current information that they can access in seconds from anywhere at any time. The teams are far more able to make informed and unified decisions because they are basing them on a single version of the same business intelligence – the same information at any time for everyone in the organization. Merits of using ECM APIs as web-services
ECM (Enterprise Content Management) as a tool for content management is very useful and easy. It can be used as simple plugin or application to handle the content load without affecting the applications performance. The most efficient way to integrate ECM with any client application is by wrapping the APIs of the ECM as web-services and then consuming these in the client application. In this blog I am focusing on some basic advantages which can be achieved by exposing the ECM API as web-services. From Information Silos to Linked Knowledge
I created my first Linked Data prototype that mashes up internal documentation within an SAP system and SAP Library & SCN wiki together. If SAP would provide meaningful URL schemes for their documentation it would be easy to create navigators through the huge information landscape of SAP to get an overall view that is necessary for information workers. This a fundumental shift of paradigms from exposing data instead of only documents.
