Message Handling in SAP CRM Web UI
As a consultant, we commonly come across requirements where we are required to add / delete / read / replace messages on the Web UI or to use them to navigate to a view; messages are also used to add any business logic to be performed by subscribing to a message. SAP CRM provides different ways of working with messages based on the requirement such as scope of the message, severity, user who should be allowed to see the message and attaching messages to object types. In this article, we would see different ways of processing messages and how does framework handle them.

One of a series of collaborative blogs by Vic Bilchouris and Mart Leepin, this follows on from a previous introductory blog titled:

ERP Applications - BCO6181 is a new subject recently offered at Victoria University of Technology, as part of the post-graduate courses offered in ERP Systems
(http://www.business.vu.edu.au/sap/default.asp).
As previously introduced in the above mentioned blog, this subject not only focuses on introducing students to NetWeaver Administration and NetWeaver Technology components, but also focuses on assisting participants with job readiness and career development.
This particular article is a summary of an informative introductory presentation on SAP User Interfaces that was offered to participants by a SAP NetWeaver Mobile technologies specialist.

CRM Web Client UI Framework is available in ERP 6.0 and NetWeaver ABAP
Web Client UI Framework, formerly proprietary user interface technology of SAP CRM, is now generally available as an ABAP Add-on, and its even available by default in ERP 6.0 EHP 4. It looks good, and it's easy to use, so it might even become a competitor for Web Dynpro. Lets have a brief look at the framework and its background and architecture.

BSP Custimazation in E-rec Portal
Many a times it might be required to enhance the e-rec Portal with additional fields for specific users. In most cases SAP provides the Customer Include option in the Info types related to E-recruitment. Using this option the user can add new fields on the e-rec portal as desired . However there are Info types which do not have the option of Customer Include. This Blog contains an illustration of one such requirement.

Community Project ZAPP_INTEGRATOR
In the SAP Enterprise Portal there is the Application Integrator which allows to integrate different back-end systems in the Portal UI. This project tries to do the same based on the NetWeaver Web Application Server ABAP only. In the first release you can start transactions on the WebAS ABAP using the SAP GUI for Windows (WinGUI).

Improve performance of your web application by minimising CSS and JS
Give your SAP web application a boost by minimising the impact Cascading Style Sheets and JavaScript has on performance. Use Pack:Tag to minify, combine and compress your CSS and JS files.
