How to release (or) refresh a Portal Component Project (PAR file) in SAP Portal?
I am here trying to explain a small error category in the Portal and also want to let developers know the importance of validations and messages in Portal. Dumps are common in Portal Application Projects, but that does not mean we have to leave them, we need to add some try catch kind of validations and show an appropriate message to the end user, so that the Portal will be more useful and also looks nice with respective to end user. kiran jakkaraju in Enterprise Portal (EP), Visual Composer [Nov. 14, 2010 04:21 AM | 0 Comments | Permalink]

The death of Web Dypro Java has been greatly exaggerated…
This post provides clarity on a topic that has gotten significant attention lately among customers and in the blogosphere: The future of UI technologies used in NW BPM (NW CE), particularly Web Dynpro Java (WD-J). These UI technologies can be leveraged with NW BPM: Web Dynpro Java (WD-J) and Visual Composer (VC). By the way, you can also use Adobe forms technology, both on- and off-line. Both technologies can be used to generate and develop interactive user interfaces for process tasks (task UIs). The next release of NW BPM will also provide integration with Web Dynpro ABAP UI's based on NW 7.3. Coming soon the next SAP BPM book "Applying Real-World BPM in an SAP Environment"
Announcing upcoming second SAP BPM book. Many have been asking me why a second book so soon, as my first book still is very relevant. The first book was focused on understanding BPM as a management discipline and governance framework. This book is focused on how to apply BPM within the context of an SAP environment where you need to take into consideration both SAP Best Practice, Own Practice and Best Insight. It is about managing your business processes wisely to stay ahead of your competitors. Which means understanding which processes are high-value and how they are linked to your company's business model. Traditional application development and new concepts
In my last blog I have tried to answer the question whether Visual Composer is just another tool for creating business applications based on the paradigm shift of business software. The answer of the question was a clear no. I came to the conclusion that SOA and Visual Composer enables the business users, the so-called business process experts (BPX), to develop business applications themselves. The possibility that the BPX can create their own applications within a very short time by modeling the application raises the question whether the traditional practices in application development do not have their permission. In this blog I will discuss the classical approaches in application development. Paradigms of business standard software and Visual Composer
Is Visual Composer just another tool for creating business applications? In my second blog of the Visual Composer blog series, I would to find the answer for this question on the basis of the paradigms of business software. You are probably wondering what have the paradigms of business standard to do with Visual Composer. This is a legitimate question; you probably are now thinking that I only want to move the drum for our Visual Composer book and find it perhaps even arrogant, that I associate with Visual Composer, the paradigms of business software. SAP Community as enabler for the new Visual Composer book

While I was reading Craig’s blog I thought that I could be Co-author of his book due to the fact that I’m now three years active part of this great community as moderator of the Visual Composer area.
