Timeless Software: Part 3
Large-scale, enterprise software, like SAP ERP, must be able to leverage and adapt to change while delivering continuity and reliability at low cost. SAP software is architected on principles that enable fast integration of, and the ability to reliably manage and exploit, changing and emerging technologies.

Timeless Software: Part 2
The need for maximum efficiency and flexibility of expression in content creation has led to a proliferation of programming languages. The resulting heterogeneous language landscapes present challenges to optimize execution at run-time. Run-time efficiencies can be achieved by separating meaning from optimization and managing state across layers of abstraction. Finally, maintaining security and reliability in the face of constant change and adaptation requires a powerful and flexible lifecycle management system.

Selling services for stock open source components is not a business you want to be in
Services markets around community open source software are priced markup over cost and thus not a pleasant place to be.

The best of both worlds: Combination of wiki and forum to improve code-related problem-solving
Have you ever tried to collaborate on forum posts that include code (irregardless of whether it is Java, ABAP, PHP, etc.)? This blog describes a suggestion of combining the wiki and the forum posts to make such collaborations more efficient.

Get Your Kicks with DI Commander
In this blog, I discuss different tools and methods available for manipulating data inside SAP Business One databases. Based on the discussion, I present a new tool that provides a new effective way to do massive data manipulations inside B1. The name of the tool is DI Commander. It allows you to harness the power of DI API much more easily than before, without compromising safety.

Language Surprises
One of the places I go to, when I'm trying to understand what is happening in the IT World is the O'Reilly Radar. Tim often puts up charts containing data about his book sales, as a means of gauging the market, but this one took me by surprise.

Why not Python?
I was as usual bragging about Python and coaxing one of my colleagues to try it. But he said that he does not like scripting languages because there aren't IDEs which support intellisense and all the bells and whistles that strongly typed languages support. I was trying to make him understand that the power of python makes up for the type safety net. I do not want to talk about all the extra goodies that you get with scripting languages as it is has been discussed elsewhere. I wanted to present a convincing case of Python's dynamic nature and came up with an example that I thought was worth sharing with the community as well.

A case for Enterprise Widgets
Its Friday afternoon and you want to publish a small application to 10,000 desktops by Monday night. Oh, and all you have are a napkin sketch and two interns. Heres the story of how we made the TechEd Schedule widget that Shai mentioned in his keynote at TechEd 06 Las Vegas.
