Accountable Care Organizations and Mobility: Working Together for Patient Empowerment
Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) will change the way healthcare works, and the latest healthcare mobility efforts will help make ACOs successful. As an offshoot of healthcare reform, ACOs mark a shift in the way treatment and healthcare is both delivered and reimbursed: ACOs will not only put greater accountability on the network of providers and physicians for the wellbeing of their patients, but will also reimburse them for performance (patient outcomes) versus volume of services delivered. Enhanced GLN Functionality Guides now Available on the SAP Service Marketplace for Healthcare
SAP's support of GLNs and GTINs may be one of our best-kept secrets (at least, outside Retail and Consumer Products). The fact is, SAP has supported GLNs and GTIN since 2006, and the functionality has been in core ECC since ECC 6.0 EHP2. In addition, SAP supports Traceability in the SAP Auto-ID Enterprise application. 2010 is the year of the “GLN Sunrise,“ whereby healthcare trading partners voluntarily will begin transacting business using the Global Location Number (GLN) in lieu of individual location codes and account numbers. The first step is the use of Ship-to GLNs on Purchase Order (850), Order Acknowledgement (855), Advanced Shipment Notification (856), and Invoice (810) EDI transactions. GLNs on EDI transactions for Rebates and Chargebacks (844, 845, and 867) are being addressed in the SAP Solution for Rebates and Chargebacks by Vistex. Debottlenecking Resources – Maximize Capacity Utilization to Optimize the Capital Investment
Though APO capacity levelling is an extended functionality of SNP heuristic, it is seldom used. But if we rightly model the combination of business requirement and SNP heuristic concept we can arrive at optimised and feasible plan even with heuristic planning and that is what we are getting benefits from- without switching to other solvers like SNP Optimizer and CTM which has their own constraints. Operational Goals, EDI and SAP Information Interchange
This economic recovery looks to be a slow grind that will test management's capacity to increase production without adding significantly to headcount. This will force companies to seek greater efficiencies in order to increase production. Reducing paper processing and administration costs is one way to reduce costs. Expanding EDI and B2B data exchanges with trading partners is an effective way to reduce costs, but not if it requires an increased headcount of expensive EDI professionals and consultants or more software and hardware.
