To Object or not to object??? Or who cares?
So many blogs - so many issues. So many people trying to FORCE me into objects. Sometimes it feels like round peg square hole. Bang it enough and I will change my shape. Really?????!!!! I had fun reading some of the blogs today and had to add my own. It's my invitation to start thinking differently and helping all of us. Jan. 4, 2012

Reality vs. the developer's dream world
My SCN friend Kumud pointed out that we know we should be programming X, but real world challenges force us to program Y. Why is that? Shouldn't we have the time to focus on the "newer" / "older" to us technologies? Wouldn't it make sense? Nov. 15, 2011

"Old Debate" Objects vs. Structural programming
Well to most of us the obvious answer is objects all the way. Why? Well hopefully this as well as the many other blogs, articles, training will help you. I know there are other shops out there hanging onto structural programming. Nov. 14, 2011

Continue to build On Genuine Demo Jam Awesomeness
There was another excellent blog by Thorsten. It got many of us thinking, how could Demo Jam at SAP Teched be better? Be more like the "Old Days". Is there a way? You tell us. Nov. 9, 2011

Really? Really!!! I can't design a good user interface because I was working with SAP when... I should be limited to the backend - ABAP side of things. No WAY! Nov. 4, 2011

Development Fun ??!!! - Maintenance a four letter word
ABAP Fun - Maintenance. Well there are people who LOVE maintenance. They work on enhancements to other people's code happily. They work in firefighter mode, and can quickly find the problem and fix it. Glory? Do they get the glory? Do they get respect? Or are the lowest of low in development? Oct. 24, 2011

"Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish" a great phrase from a great Man - what does it mean?
"Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish", these are great words from a great man. What does that phrase mean to you? I know I looked through the internet and didn't find two answers exactly the same. I did read the speech. I plan on buying the book; however, I haven't read it yet. So here is a journey and some self thoughts. Wow - Kumud who asked me the question, has me thinking. I hope she will you too! Oct. 18, 2011

Jumping off the cliff with no soft landing in sight
On-Site, Off-site, Onshore, Offshore, Customer Resources, Consulting Resources - what models have you been in? Which do you wish you could avoid? What does the future hold? I'll let you know my PERSONAL experience, not ANY REFLECTION from my company or the consultanting firms that have been here. I got all that out rather quickly. It's a long read. But I try to tackle a touchy subject. No one wants to hear the words, you are outsourced. Oct. 11, 2011

I've been to Innojam and.., won! No not that way - I wasn't on the demojam stage.
Innojam - I lived! I played with new technology! It was fun, exhausting, and I met a lot of people. And I won, not from the judges, but by my standards it was a true win. Oct. 4, 2011

Heading back to 2009 - JUST A DEVELOPER????!!!!
Developers - what do they do? They develop, right? No need to understand the process. Why? They just code. A developer's a dime a dozen. It's now 2011 the tools are easier, we really don't even need a developer most of the time!!!! Sep. 28, 2011

Teched Las Vegas - So close... It's almost here! Have you heard about Networking Sessions with the Experts? Ever gone to one? They seem to be one of the things that are the least advertised and the most missed! Growl. Missed. We miss opportunities to speak one on one with someone who has just presented something interesting. Or what about those people that you follow? Some of them may be there. YOU HAVE MISSED THEM! Why? Lack of promoting a great initiative. Sep. 1, 2011

And of course you work with the happy little gnomes. Maybe some giants that are good natured. Or Ogres that want to step on you! Or Ogre's that want to keep you safe. Aug. 24, 2011

ABAP Webdynpro - My favorite new thing that I have learned. Oh how cool it is. Really - no old timer could have anything that they could use to make it better! Who needs to learn new Technology? I already know everything I need to get a great Review!
I already know everything to do my job - and do it well! So I don't need to know anything about those new type technology. ABAP Objects? Heck who needs them. I can do the same thing in regular old ABAP much quicker. I don't plan on using anything new. After all my company is on an SAP release that doesn't support the newer technology. AND we do not want to be on the bleeding edge.  Jul. 22, 2011
