Collaborate with IBM Cubing Services and Alphablox developers and product managers on product design and usability issues. Information Developer - Alphablox August 2000 – July 2004 (4 years) Used experience from previous position to plan and write a 300 page developer’s guide. Coded with JSP, Java, HTML, and CSS to create examples application, with over 120 examples running against Hyperion Essbase and Microsoft Analysis Services. Worked closely with developers and product management on product design and usability issues. Visited customers for usability testing and task analysis. Received Excellence award (employee of the quarter) for contributions to product development and documentation. Principal Consultant - Alphablox October 1998 – October 2000 (2 years 1 month) Provided post-sales consultation on web-based application design and development of Alphablox-based analytic applications (including KPI and dashboard applications). Developed functional specifications, coordinated development with internal and third-party programmers, performed initial testing and QA, coordinated beta tests, scheduled final release, provide training and resource materials for marketing and support staff. Design and develop prototype graphical user interfaces using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Evaluated Web-based technologies for inclusion in products. Webmaster - Software.com June 1996 – November 1997 (1 year 6 months) Designed, developed, and maintained Software.com's Web and FTP sites, a confidential Sales/Marketing Information Center, and Marketing Department intranet. Assisted Sales in web design. Installed and maintained web, FTP, and indexing servers. Generated and evaluated web and FTP site traffic reports. Negotiated web banner advertising deals with AltaVista (DoubleClick Network), Yahoo, Excite, and DejaNews. Assisted other departments in web page design issues. Before being hired by Marketing at Software.com, consulted to the Engineering Department for two months designing web interfaces for a new DNS server product. Internet consultant and author - Media Matrix (Self-employed) August 1995 – July 1996 (1 year) Consulted on Internet strategies and web site design. Clients included Interactive Software Engineering (www.eiffel.com), Software.com (www.software.com), Strategic Research Corporation (www.sresearch.com), Emerging Technologies Research Group of FIND/SVP (etrg.findsvp.com), and Earth Communications Office (www.earthcomm.org). Director of Business Services - Silicon Beach Communications August 1994 – August 1995 (1 year 1 month) Co-founded Internet service provider and grew the business to over 1,000 users within one year. Negotiated and sold high-speed data connections to corporate customers. Managed marketing, technical support, sales, and advertising. Designed, developed, and maintained Web and FTP sites.
