University Alliances for your Academic Career
Gail Corbitt, our UA Director for USA, started a forum thread (see link provided) asking: "What are the best ideas for sustaining the {University Alliances} program you have, given that faculty retire, Deans leave and resources are really tight right now to keep the existing programs going?" This motivated me to consider that the program is sustainable when it delivers elements that advance professor's careers in measurable contributions to the missions and goals of their universities. My contribution to her question is repeated in this blog entry. Aug. 4, 2009

What's in a name? that which we call a rose. By any other name would smell as sweet...?
Now I am thinking, we chose the name SAP University Alliances Community. We feel that this is a proper brand to build on, not just for our relationships in higher education, but in providing a forum for connecting and collaborating with professors, students, customers, partners, SAP functional groups and SAP HR, and related associations like our User Groups. What do you think? Feb. 9, 2009

Thoughts on Launching an Academic Community
I have been thinking a lot lately about the concept of 'community'. There is something special about the academic world that had been missing from my professional sphere. Today, with the responsibility of introducing the University Alliance Community, I have similar feelings.  Jan. 26, 2009
