About a month ago I wrote here about a new mobile tool for SAP TechEd Berlin called GuidEd, a web based companion to provide to you up to date information about ongoing sessions, blog post on SCN and conversations on Twitter. I received great feedback for the idea and the execution and received great support from Linda Bortolus, who takes care about the SAP TechEd website. I was able to update any session changes for the next day and the usage was quite well for the fact that GuidEd wasn't much promoted beside here in the blog area. All this feedback was more then encouraging and convinced me to continue to work on GuidEd.

GuidEd for the Blackberry

Gregor Wolf, one of my fellow Mentor colleagues had a crush on GuidEd but unfortunately only a Blackberry in his pocket. But Gregor cares so he came to me and asked if he could work on providing an interface for his Blackberry and did an amazing job. Thanks to Gregor this will immediately broaden the possible user base for GuidEd by an order of magnitude.Thanks a lot Gregor! Here is how it looks like:

And to give you a personal introduction, he made a little video tour through the Blackberry interface in form of a screencast.

 

 

Beside the work on the Blackberry interface, Gregor pushed to also add Photos from Picasa and the stream from Craig eventtrack, which you can also find in GuidEd now.

Both Gregor and I are really excited to provide GuidEd on the iPhone and Blackberry handhelds for Bangalore and we hope it will make your SAP TechEd experience even better.

Update:

Unfortunately a couple of schedule times for technical sessions are incorrect and could lead to sending you to the wrong place or time at TechEd Bangalore. To prevent any futher inconveniences I've disabled the session look up for technical sessions. I've fixed the problem and the session data are correct again and I've added a list of latest session changes. The Theater sessions are still active and work fine.

There was a problem with the style sheets in the Blackberry interface in the morning. This issue is fixed now.
