The unit of measurement is widely known as any division of quantity accepted as a standard of measurement. This unit is the least possible measurable quantity for any object. <br>

Employee Assignments in OM have the day as the unit of measurement. The open assignments identified by 31.12.9999. The least an Assignment can measure is a day, where the start date and end date for the assignment can be the same date.

The agenda behind this weblog was to think aloud whether the day as a unit of measurement can be a all encompassing solution for all scenarios. I need not elaborate the business needs were the resources could switching between assignments within a days time and the need to plan, track and report such assignments. If the day cannot be the unit of measurement for the assignments, what could be the alternative? Can we have a more flexible and scalable unit of measurement? These are some questions which I will try to answer in the next issue of the weblog.

Sorry for not understanding, but where is the unit stored? At least for us, on HRP1001, a person is related to a position by a percentage. So, in theory, a person can be related to anything by a day and percentage. What am I missing?

    Thanks!
