Move Update Penalty Postponed - Performing a Move Update process is now required by the USPS® for all Standard Mail® and First-Class^TM mail, and the Move Update process must be performed no later than 95 days prior to a mailing to be eligible for automation postal discounts.

The Postal Service^TM established a transition period until May 11, 2009 for mailers to comply and have also modified their Postage Statement to indicate which Move Update method was used. After the transition period, mailers not compliant with the Move Update requirements would have been fined $0.07 per piece for the entire mailing.  The Postal Service^TM announced that it is postponing implementation of the $0.07 per piece penalty for Standard Mail® until January 4th 2010.  This does not relieve mailers of their obligation to comply with the Move Update requirements for Standard Mail® if they intend to claim automation discounts.

If using ACE or Printform, Mover ID is available as an add-on if you have not all ready purchased it.  If you are using Presort, your lists must be move-updated before you input them into Presort.
