Last week I visited Vienna and had great meetings with our partners, customers, and several members of the SAP Mentor program.  It was great to see the huge interest in the solutions offered with the BusinessObjects products and it was great to be able to help our customers and partners to get up and running.

So you might ask yourself now what are SAP Mentors ? Well, here the short version.

SAP Mentors are the top community influencers of the SAP Ecosystem. Most members work for customers or partners of SAP. All of them are hands-on experts of an SAP product or service, as well as excellent champions for product roll-in and roll-out. They have been nominated but their peers on the basis of their passion for the community their willingness to contribute ad share as well as motivate others.

In case you are now interested to learn more about this group you can reach out to http://sapmentors.sap.com to learn more about the group  and actually see a list of SAP Mentors and their subject of expertise.

So what can a mentor actually do for you ? This is where I would like to share a success story with everyone.

Freddy Guerrero, a consultant with Penitus Global Solutions, LLC (PGS) - an SAP services partner since 2006, is providing his view on the value of the BusinessObjects community:

" Before using the SAP BusinessObjects community, it took us two weeks to solve a typical problem. On average, we'd run into two or three issues per project. Now, we get instant solutions by searching forums or reaching out to SAP mentors and other experts. There's no doubt that these resources help us consistently deliver projects on time and within budget."

I personally think that his is a great example on how a community and a group of subject matter experts - available as part of the community and willing to help - can have a direct impact on your own projects and your own success.

You can find the complete details of the success story and more examples here.

So join the BusinessObjects community today, find out who the SAP Mentors are for your subject areas, and use the forums to collaborate with other customers, partners,  and consultants - it for sure is worth it.
