This earth is not ours, we are using it on a limited basis. We are already facing serious consequences, and will continue to unless we help make change happen.
On December 7, representatives of 192 countries will meet in Copenhagen to discuss how to effectively start reducing carbon emissions. This is will allow us to set standards and more importantly benchmark ourselves. In order to see how effective we have been with our efforts, now and going forward, we need to see where we have come from.
Agreeing on carbon emissions is the first step in a long path that must be laid if the Sustainability movement really wants to be impactful. Hopenhagen.org will allow your voice to be heard. Those of us who are interested in Sustainability have been doing what we can in helping make the world more sustainable. Today, everyone has an opportunity to tell our political leaders how we really feel. This could be our last chance to have a worldwide unified agreement on carbon emissions. It is time for the real deal, sign the petition.
Social networks have taken over how we communicate. Hopenhagen.org is using this interconnectedness to help spread the hope. We must use our social networking platforms to start spreading the hope to get as many people as possible to sign the petition. You can become a fan on facebook, follow them on twitter @Hopenhagen, and check them out on Youtube. The Hopenhagen passport facebook application allows you to start earning stamps by spreading the hope in different ways to your friends and family.

These are very good points you make. Carbon footprints are something that all companies need to look at. This is a very hot topic right now amongst the business community. I hope this topic continues to develop not only in the USA but in emerging countries as well. I look forward to hearing more from you on this topic.

As some have commented already here on SCN, the boundaries between professional and political, personal and work-related, business and govenment sometimes are a bit blurred and by the very nature of our social behavior here and the transparency we purport to display we open ourselves up for critique, response and sometimes cynicism. When I see people like yourself, David, actively working to make change concrete and not just talk about it, I am very hopeful. You have been clearly committed to this topic on campus, online and in your community. Education is a very important step, and as I commented earlier today in another context, our academic partners have a stewardship and opportunity to change thought and by that change action. Continue to lead us. We have much to learn from you.
