No matter whether you are an experienced SAP Professional or just starting out on your SAP career, continuous learning and career planning will be your constant companions.

But when it comes to career development, many people don’t know where to start.

This short guide builds on a series of blog posts that were written over the last few months, and is designed to help prepare you (and your career) for 2010 and beyond. The guide explains how learning can be incorporated into your every day (working and learning) life, how to set some goals for your career, and importantly, how you can use technology in a way that accelerates your learning and skilling process.

To make life easier, the book is available as both an eBook AND a printed book. The eBook is FREE and is available immediately.

If you prefer your books in a printed format, you can order it on-demand from Lulu.com. You only pay for the printing and shipping – there is no margin. You will, however, need to wait for the book to be printed and shipped.

Gavin Heaton   is the social media director for SAP North America's Premier Customer Network.

@FSA @Claudine - taking ownership of your career is one of the most empowering things you can do. And turning your "spare" time to a productive use can dramatically improve your skills base and your knowledge within a very short period of time.

Congratulations, you´ve exposed the importance of learning in a clear and practical way. Completely agree with "no one will ever care about your career as much as you".

    Useful career advice

Good advice for SCN members on how to squeeze in time for learning, set career goals and take action. Interestig what you say about devoting an hour a day to e-learning while commuting to and back from work = 5 hours of learning/ week = close to 250 hours per year. Pretty amazing... I guess the key here is discipline. Thanks for sharing the e-book.
