Procurement Catalog Management (SRM-MDM Catalog)

Procurement Catalog Management based on SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management allows employees to create, cleanse and manage their own centralized supplier catalog facilitating a smooth flow in the procurement process. The overall process flow is shown in the following illustration:

    This is a very nice blog created by you.
    We have a similar scenario where we need to integrate SRM-MDM using XI 7.0,where R/3 will be passing idocs for updating goods catalog, services catalog and the contract catalog.
    MATMAS MATMAS03 – for materials
    SRVMAS SRVMAS01 – For Services
    BLAORD BLAORD03 – for contracts
    Can u please tell how to do th integration in XI also,if there is an pre-defined mapping template available for the scenario and what should be the input message for MDM ?

      Currently we support upload of Contracts/ info records and MSS service hierarchy structures from ERP using MeCCM which internally using CatalogUpdateNotification_OUT message to send the content to XI. XI converts this XML to MDM required XML schema and then send the final XML to MDM ports using FTP. In your case I would see only contracts scenario in the standard which works with MeCCM report. Else you would need to custom this whole solution. This would involve following steps


      1)Model a XML schema for MDM that would hold the data to import and define the Import Maps using import manager (default import maps also exist for ERP and SRM they can be references in case you can re use them).
      2)Create ports on MDM to receive the files from XI and assign the Import maps to these ports.
      3)Route the IDOCS from R/3 system to XI.
      4)Create the XI content which would involve reading the incoming IDOC , creating interfaces which would work on the IDOC and map the content to the MDM understandable XML schema and then finally route this XML using FTP to the ports created on the MDM.
