The question we are trying to answer is "How do I use BusinessObjects in the cloud when I don't want to move my data into the cloud?".  The answer is a framework that sits on top of your existing internal BusinessObjects implementation that provides the result of the report processing as a embeddable presentation layer into any web application including cloud applications.

BusinessObjects provides the InfoView and openDoc which are good ways to provide Enterprise Business Intelligence systems to users with complex data analysis needs.  However when passing information in the cloud, both security and speed are also in focus,  In order to provide small, secure, report parts sensitive to the application context you need a framework that pulls only the pieces of the BOBJ platform that you need into easily accessible connects that can work individually.

We have created a jsp connector framework that allows for trusted authentication and passing of secure report requests using  encoded values to your internal BusinessObjects platform.  Report content is requested via URL calls (i.e. usually URL's) using a Java application server application that can run on your existing web servers or in a virtual private cloud.

You Business Intelligence platform (i.e. BOE XI)  and your data stays where it is.  Only the presentation layer is provided in HTML or Flex embedded into your application.

More technical details will follow on how to integrate security

    Hi
Is this jsp connector framework an offering from SAP-BOBJ, or is this some sort of third-party offering which needs to be separately purchased from a vendor?
Can BOBJ-Edge users also use this - does the license support that?

    Thanks,
    Maloy
