In our continuing effort to innovate content delivery and our SDN community activities, SDN presents the second installment of “Online Community Meet-ups.”

As you may recall back in December,  Matt Kangas presented the first one  about SAP J2EE Process Architecture Features, hosted by Scott Jones and Craig Cmehil .

In this second session of the series we would like to focus on a topic that has moved from “Hype to Reality” according to Technolgy-Evaluation.com and TechRepublic: RFID.

We would like to invite you on February 23rd at 10:00 AM EST, 4:00 PM CET to join us when we introduce Eric Domski, SAP’s RFID Solution Director.

According to Eric Domski, SAP has come a long way in RFID development.  With over 120 customers in over 15 industries, SAP Solutions for RFID cover many value-based processes over and above the commonly known CP Wal-Mart\retail mandates.  In this discussion Eric will discuss SAP's overall roadmap as well as specifics around the new features just released in Version 4.0 to include:

  • Returnable Transport Items
  • Inbound Processing
  • Analytics
  • Event Management

Eric will also discuss several Customer Success Stories to include Airbus and Pacific Cycle.

      Ashish,
SAP has been including ratified EPCglobal standards in their releases. This has included the ability to use all EPC revisions of the tag constructs through Gen2, support for the Reader Protocol where appropriate, as well as the ability to communicate through ALE. In addition, we are actively involved in EPCglobal in all Action Groups including the HLS and FMCG Bags, HAG, and SAG. As the working groups within these action groups develop standards, we are actively engaged in incorporating them into our solutions.
      Regards,
      Tim

I just wanted to know one thing like what is the scope of choosing hetergenous AUTO-ID Infrastructure in the organization.

Like somebody is having a manufactruing plant in Location X and second one is in Locatation Y. Both plants are using different Interogator and Tags what will be possibility of supporting different vendor specific hardware as per client's wish and business requirements.

Do we support any existing range of vendor specific AUTO-ID infra hardwares which includes ISO TAG, ICODE SLI OMRON ALIEN INTERMAC INTELLIFLEX etc.

        Thx in advance.

        Thanks Tim,
The online meetup should provide an opportunity for just this kind of interaction and conversation, live!
        Hope to see you there.
        Marilyn
