Since I am new to the SAP and don't have any related business background I started a month ago to familiarize myself with products and tools provided by the SAP. During my internship here in India my main topic will be the Composition Environment what fits to my technical background which is basically Java, Java EE5 and in general developing with Eclipse. Learning to work with SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio was quite easy for me and I really started to enjoy it. Mainly I did a lot of tutorials on the different aspects of the CE like CAF, WD, VC, EJB`s and so on to get a rough overview and a better basic understanding what the technology is all about. During these exercises I came up against many unclear expressions and SAP slang words which often were used as acronyms. Getting along with all these stuff was my main pain point. I searched for a while on the internet to face this problem but couldn't find a good site which offered an overview I was looking for. So I had to do a time consumption research on each single acronym. To fill this gap of a missing acronym library I collected everything which ran into me. Here is the result of my efforts which I wanted to share with you maybe it helps somebody in a similar situation like me one month ago. For anybody interested in a topic I also prepared a link to further information's just click on the word you are looking for.

I agree to Michael that wiki is great for such vast,in fact never ending ( ever growing ) areas like Abbreviations...but then someone has to group them together ( and moderate ) so that its easy to trace and focus..else it will be like everyone adds what they know and it will be a mess and miss the purpose.

Anyways good job Simons... it was a good start and i got full forms of many i heard but never took time to search'em and know...
    Thankx

Yeah after thinking about it I believe you are right with the wiki. For me it was an entry point to SAP and i wanted to share this with others so my first thought was just blogging about it. Thanks for your replies I will keep them in mind

  • A couple of wiki pages already exist...

    Hi Simon

There have been a few attempts at making wiki pages with lists of acronyms. If you go the wiki area and search for "acronyms" a few hits will appear.

Wikis are a better way to maintain such lists as they can be editted, whereas someone coming to this blog later on will have to read all the replies (plus any drop in comments about identities!)

    Good luck with your internship
