Competitive Pressures and Value Propositions, Is Lean the Answer?
The latest kick is Lean and Six Sigma but in most cases that will not make the difference in addressing competitive pressures or your value proposition. Focus on business drivers for your SAP implementation before the project, throughout the project, and after go-live to see real benefit.

Opportunities for INNOVATION - SAP, HELLO?
What if there were some really, really great ideas on how to dramatically change the SAP ERP application for far greater success in the marketplace? What if it would make a significant change in the usefulness of the application? What if it could be done with almost completely pre-existing functions, functionality, and code that SAP already has but has not done a good job themselves of integrating?
A low cost, high benefit, game changing scenario in the ERP application space.
What if these changes demonstrated enough benefit to create a compelling case for version upgrades without expiring support as the reason?

Some Reasons SAP Projects are Over Budget and Over Time
You're doing everything right. You've got executive support and sponsorship, a solid budget, you've been through a grueling vendor selection process, your scope is reasonable, you're using Solution Manager or following the ASAP methodology, but somehow your project is always in chaos. You're still doing lots of design work as you are ready to start integration testing. Something is wrong and you know it. Where is the problem and why are you headed for a blown budget and timeline?

Inter-organizational Disaster Process Management
Over the last years we have seen a rise in disasters, let it be natural disasters or man-made disasters, such as hurricane Katrina or terrorism. The situation after a disaster is by definition chaotic and requires a rigorous approach to manage the chaos. Public security organizations have developed various methods for implementing such an approach. Although disaster process management is an important part of this, it has only recently received attention. We write about our research on inter-organizational disaster process management, which has not been addressed by research yet.

Accelerating ABAP Development with Power of Scripts, Templates, Cockpits, Code Generators & Runtime Engines - Part I
The SAP software development involves implementation of increasingly complex applications. The standard programming techniques that use 3GL languages like ABAP are a little help in making the development process faster and developed applications smaller and easier to maintain. This document describes how to accelerate ABAP development by at least an order of magnitude with power of 4GL scripts, templates, cockpits, code generators and/or runtime engines. The same techniques apply to other development environments and languages; e.g., Java, C/C++.

On Building Trust in Automation of IT Systems Management (Pt. 1)
There are many known advantages of automating IT system management. However, there still seem to be many inhibitors for various organisations adopting 'full automation', in spite of the measurable benefits. This blog discusses some views on why these inhibitors exist and proposes a set of principles for addressing them. Subsequent blogs will expand on these principles.

MASTER project - Compliance Facilitator
SOA brings flexibility and agility to the business in order to address new market opportunities. In the cloudiness of those new business processes, entrepreneurs, in addition to prove their businesses are lucrative, will have to prove that their businesses are sustainable.
MASTER will facilitate this demonstration.

Internet of Services + Internet of Things? Internet of Objects!
Let us see where we can go if we want to merge Internet of Things and Internet of Services. Let us be bolder than the current trend of exposing sensors and applications as services. We scratch here the surface of what it would mean to enable the accessibility of any object (virtual or physical) via the internet through universally adopted web technologies.
