HCM Processes & Forms: You spin me right round, Baby, right round, like a record, Baby, right round, round-round
What better way to start a blog than with a "cheesy" 80's song? (1985 by Dead or Alive) But it fits right in with this "cheesy" little problem that often stumps HCM Processes and Forms developers.....the never ending spinning wheel!

Timeless Software: Part 2
The need for maximum efficiency and flexibility of expression in content creation has led to a proliferation of programming languages. The resulting heterogeneous language landscapes present challenges to optimize execution at run-time. Run-time efficiencies can be achieved by separating meaning from optimization and managing state across layers of abstraction. Finally, maintaining security and reliability in the face of constant change and adaptation requires a powerful and flexible lifecycle management system.

Timeless Software: Part 1
Large-scale, enterprise software, like SAP ERP, must be able to leverage and adapt to change while delivering continuity and reliability at low cost. SAP software is architected on principles that enable fast integration of, and the ability to reliably manage and exploit, changing and emerging technologies.

DemoJam 2008: SAP Enterprise Portal meets Web 2.0
To add functionality, such as iGoogle, me and my colleague Peter Mayringer, have been frantically looking in the open source world. Combining the flexibility of Open Source technology with the stable and robust SAP Enterprise Portal would be the best of two different worlds. It provides added functionality which is currently not provided by the SAP Enterprise Portal.

Mystery of Filtration in Web Service!
In Business Object, if an operation for finding all attributes on the basis of entry of field values is created. From service browser, user can filter all attributes if at least one of field value is not entered or left blank. This service assumes Querying using WildCard character (*) in the blank field. But when an Application Service is created with an operation which directly use the same operation in that Business Object and is exposed as Web Service. This Web Service can not act as same as BO operation does in case of filtering with at least one of input parameters is left. Instead this returns an empty output. Hence i want to show you how to filter with at least one blank input parameters in Web Service just like BO operation.

Use a new created bookmark ID in BI_COMMANDs
In my scenario I will call a BSP application from a web template. The web template is a generic template that supported a couple of query, like the 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN template.
The BSP application is an IT support application. User can initialize a ticket by pressing a button in the template.
For better support the action behind the button will first create a bookmark in the backend and then call the BSP application. The web template will hand over the ID of the new created bookmark by parameter to the BSP application.
