WWW = Way to a Wiser World!
Based on my search in the internet on the topic of Orgaanizational Wisdom I tend to form a view that the publication of these two books, one in 1998 and the other in 2007, the presentation by JPCarlisle in 2006 and many more resources in the web may be considered as an indication of the recent progress in the subject. The Chicago University's Arete Initiative and other initiatives by individuals reflected by the number of websites may certainly be taken to indicate the interest and concern with the subject. Hence we may reasonably conclude that the 'Data-Information-Knowledge-Wisdom' trajectory appears to be becoming an interesting area of study. This seems to give hope that IT would eventually help a wiser world dawn as a continuum of processing of data, information and knowledge so far. Café Innovation – SAP customers seek new ways to improve return on their SAP investment
Innovation in how organizations support their SAP investment is in many ways just as important as how they innovate with SAP at the center of their technology investments. The role of a community-based approach should be considered as also the importance of the BPXer. Organizations are beginning to look at new models emerging within the SAP ecosystem that rely on a community-based approach and look to lower the TCO (financial and environmental) for their technology investments. The consumption of information via modern media affecting the processing within knowledge management?
Bernard Stiegler describes the change/evolution of information provisioning and its related awareness and opinion building over the period of last 400 years. Reading that book I recognize some parallel developments within the processing of knowledge. This likeness is more or less evident, because we (the global society) deal with the same participants within both influential processes (knowledge and information consumption). In the area of information provisioning Bernard Stiegler points to some dramatic mental changes and relates them to current violent behavior in society. Answering the question about similar effects in knowledge might lead to surprises as well.
