Analyzing Problems Using ABAP Short Dumps: Part II
It's panic time when your ABAP program writes a short dump in a customer system. Experience has shown that developers tend to rush right past the ABAP short dump in their eagerness to start looking at the problem. But often, the short dump is the best and sometimes the only diagnostic aid that you have. This pair of weblogs explores the diagnostic aids and information resources that an ABAP short dump offers, and how to get the most help out of a dump. Slipstream - Live Dashboarding for SAP NetWeaver BPM (“Galaxy”)
One of the value propositions of an SOA is to combine and reuse services. BPM technology has finally come to a point where we are able to model large parts of these service-based processes rather than hiding them within applications. This also enables us to run analyses at any point within the process and visualize the results in real-time instead of implementing awkward hooks into the application code. Freedom for Java
The Java industry is currently going through important changes, and there are many discussions around the openness of Java and the Java Community Process (JCP). To ensure the continued role of Java in driving economic growth, we believe it is essential to transition the stewardship of the language and platform into an authentically open body that is free from any particular corporate interest. Part 4 - Configure the Workflow Engine in Netweaver Trial 7.01
Soon after posting 'Part 3 – Enable Transport System on Netweaver 7.01 Trial' I went on to configure my Workflow Engine and realised that it had a very similar problem as the transport system had - For some reason this version of Netweaver is set up with the host name specified as PWDF3101 by default - This causes all sorts of complications, one of which I dealt with in the previous part of this series, and another here. You have the CCMS that goes PING?
There's a scene in Monty Python's The Meaning of Life where Michael Palin exclaims to Graham Chapman and John Cleese, "Ah, I see you have the machine that goes *ping*" in an expensively furbished hospital operating room. This story has nothing to do with that. Other than the ping sound. And maybe the overly expensive tools to do simple jobs. Researching a memory leak in Java on SAP ISA
This goes into details on resolving an issue in the Java code (in our case on Internet Sales), identifying it, getting data about it and getting it resolves using multiple tools available for the Java platform. It starts with Identifying the issue using several tools and JVM options. Then continues on with getting Data such as Head dump and Garbage Collection logs. That data is then analyzed using the memory Analyzer (MAT), the IBM heap analyzer and the IBM Garbage Collection log analyzer. The issue was located and SAP worked with on on getting it resolved.
